Expedition: Hip Hop - MY IDENTITY?
Choreography & direction: Kama Frankl and Rymon Zacharei
The Ruhr area is known for its strong hip-hop scene. But what exactly is hip hop? The expression of a certain attitude towards life? A mouthpiece for adolescents and young adults, especially for those with a “migration background”? And who is a “real” hip hopper anyway?
7 young people between the ages of 12 and 18 dealt with the urban dance scene of the Ruhr area and developed their first full-length piece as a newly founded hip-hop dance theater ensemble. Under the artistic direction of Kama Frankl and Rymon Zacharei, the young dancers and performers questioned today's ideal image of a hip hopper and tell the audience their own personal stories!
