KOFFER 2.022
A street art exhibition in Alten Wartesaal in Bahnhof Herne

Opening 20.08.2022 ǀ 6 – 9 pm

Kuratiert von Hase läuft

A suitcase (Koffer) is a cuboid, lidded, lockable container for the manual transport of objects. But it is also a symbol for what we all carry with us. When we are on the road. When crossing borders, where something ends and something else begins. When leaving and arriving. Or in spirit and soul.

KOFFER 2.022 is a travelling exhibition by street artists with roots in the former Soviet Union. After its premiere in the Alte Post Neuss, it now reaches its second, extended station in the Alter Wartesaal at Herne railway station. A stage-like installation takes us on a journey of flight or emigration and brings us to the border crossings of East and West - directly between the fronts. Having come to Germany or Israel as children of the so-called quota refugees, the participating artists are now well-known representatives of the international street art/mural scene.

Deso (Haifa - Petrozavodsk) // Epema (Dortmund - Odessa) // Isakov (Berlin - Sevastopol) // Kartel (Hanover - Tiraspol) // KJ263 (Düsseldorf - Krasnodar)

An exhibition catalogue will be published at the vernissage.

Exhibition until 18.09.2022
