RENEGADE

back to the roots

A hip-hop dance theater piece by Niels "Storm" Robitzky

Back to the roots of HipHop in Germany - more specifically to the beginning of the 80s, when breaking with its spectacular moves hit the pedestrian zones of the big cities and caused a sensation, the ghettoblaster became a trademark and rap the soundtrack of a cultural movement.

After a first uproar, dance disappeared from the streets and the media. Where is it now? How did its aesthetic change? Can the spirit of its early years be reanimated or was it never lost at all?

Break-legend Niels "Storm" Robitzky and 6 international dancers with different stylistic backgrounds go on a journey through time and take their audience back to the golden age of HipHop.
