"With One Eye Open – Exploring Graffiti Photography” ist eine filmische Ode an die Fotografie in Graffiti. In Kooperation mit dem Roxy Kino in Dortmund lädt Pottporus zum Screening des Independent-Dokumentarfilms plus Talk mit Kurator Jasper van Es, Filmemacher Jonathan Pieterse und Fotograf Alex Fakso.
Die vier Kurzfilme mit Soundtrack von Niels Matitawaer folgen jeweils einem anderen Fotografen und seiner einzigartigen Beziehung zu Graffiti: Alex Fakso, Cat Cent Cat, Edward Nightingale und MIA Crew. Gemeinsam bieten sie einen Insiderblick in eine Welt, die oft verborgen, illegal oder missverstanden ist.
Mit Unterstützung von Mondrian Fund. Roxy Lichtspielhaus in Kooperation mit Europe Cinemas, Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, FFA – Filmförderungsanstalt und trailer.

Für das Erfolgsstück "CRACKS" kehrt Choreograf Rauf Yasit, der als gefragter Star der HipHop-Kultur und Tänzer in Los Angeles lebt und arbeitet, in das Land zurück, in dem für ihn alles begann. Er begibt sich zusammen mit dem Urban Arts Ensemble Ruhr auf Spurensuche: Sie lassen die befreienden Risse und Träume aus Kindertagen wieder auferstehen, und Gegenwart und Vergangenheit in einem spannungsgeladenen Dialog zwischen kindlichem Spiel und professionellem Anspruch, naiver Neugier und fehlerloser Funktionalität aufeinandertreffen.

URBAN ARTS ENSEMBLE RUHR
first of its kind
Founded in April 2023 and funded by the state of Ruhr, the Urban Arts Ensemble Ruhr represents the further development, visibility and establishment of hip-hop as a culture in the Ruhr metropolitan region throughout Germany and Europe.
The ensemble of seven dancers with different dance styles and perspectives seeks new paths to set new aesthetic standards when it comes to contemporary hip hop dance.
Productions
Renegade was founded in 2003 as the first urban dance company in Germany. Since then, we have realized over 35 dance theatre productions with the independent company, won several prizes for our work, collaborated with major theaters and toured our work in Germany and internationally. With the new URBAN ART ENSEMBLE RUHR, the Renegade era is coming to an end after 20 years, but of course not completely. But: We will continue to perform the successful production FASTER (!) for you, choreographed by Jimmy Vairon.

Step by step to your hip hop style, that's your plan? Fine - because we know how to do it. We offer regular courses in hip hop and breaking, as well as workshops in other styles such as krump or dancehall. We start with children from the age of 4. With us, you will learn the basics of different dance styles, routines and choreographys - and find your own style. If you are already experienced dancers, you have the opportunity to develop to professional level with us. Our instructors are rooted in the hip hop scene, are professional dancers on stage and in battles and have many years of experience.

AERIALS
junges hip hop ensemble
Clear the stage for the next generation! Founded in 2022 under the direction of Jacqueline Neuenhausen, the young ensemble explores the history, present and future of hip hop. In 2023, the AERIALS celebrated their first major premiere with their play ‘11 out of 10’ and followed it up in 2024 with their new production ‘Selbstgespräche’
