WANNE

3D dance film // Choreography Malou Airaudo

RENEGADE

There is probably no one in town who has not already swum lanes in the indoor swimming pool "Hallenbad Eickel", which closed its doors in 2016. Whether it is the first swimming lessons, the first swimming certificate "Seepferdchen" or the first time jumping off the 3-meter board: Many memories are interwoven with this place.

Under the choreography of Malou Airaudo, the urban dance collective Renegade explored the possibilities of the vacant spaces and recaptured the abandoned place. A dancer appears, then another one, suddenly a saxophonist, a visitor... dance and music flow through one another and the tiled room - until the basin becomes a stage, the tower an audience stand, the whole pool a theatre.  The 3D dance film "WANNE" tests the imagination of its viewers and creates a vision of the future in which the former indoor swimming pool is given a new identity.

Developed as part of the “Raum Labor Hallenbad” project, which is exploring the possibilities of converting vacant spaces as a production centers for urban art. Funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
